Thank you for your interest in my bead pattern designs.

If you’ve purchased one of my beadwork patterns — or are planning to — you may be wondering how they can be used.
This guide explains personal use, teaching permissions, copyright rules, and licensing options for bead loom and peyote patterns.

All designs are original digital bead patterns protected by copyright.

Personal Use of Beading Patterns

When you buy a bead pattern:

  • You can create finished jewelry or beadwork for personal use

  • Handmade items may usually be sold in small quantities

  • Credit to the designer is appreciated but not required

However, the digital pattern itself cannot be shared, copied, or redistributed.

This applies to all loom, peyote, tapestry, and accessory patterns.

Can I Teach a Class Using Your Bead Patterns?

Yes — but a beading pattern teaching license is required.

This includes:

  • Beading workshops

  • Jewelry-making classes

  • Bead loom or peyote instruction

  • Online live teaching sessions

  • Bead clubs or community groups

A workshop license allows printed copies for students based on class size.

Patterns must still be purchased separately.

Bead Pattern Copyright Rules

To protect original digital bead designs:

Not allowed:

  • Sharing PDF pattern files

  • Emailing patterns to students or friends

  • Uploading patterns to Google Drive, Dropbox, or social media

  • Reselling or redistributing digital files

  • Including patterns in kits without permission

These rules help support independent designers and keep the creative ecosystem sustainable.

Commercial Use of Bead Patterns

Small handmade sales are typically acceptable.

You may need a separate agreement if you:

  • Manufacture items at scale

  • Produce kits using the pattern

  • Teach large recurring workshops

  • Represent a school or commercial studio

Custom licensing is always available on request.

Why Beading Licensing Matters

Creating bead patterns requires design time, testing, charting, and formatting.
Licensing ensures designers are compensated while still allowing teachers and makers to use designs responsibly.

It’s a balance between creative freedom and copyright protection.

Choosing the Right Beading License

Typical options include:

  • Small group teaching licenses

  • Standard workshop licenses

  • Extended licenses for large classes
